How about a radical idea that really isn’t that radical? Sheryl Sandberg in this video talks about how she and her husband manage careers and family.

At the end of the day her idea can be summed up thusly: Women’s careers need to be as important as men’s and men’s participation in the home needs to be as important as women’s.

She takes the position that the workplace today is far more progressive than the home. The evidence is everywhere.

The idea that two people who are working an equal amount of time outside the home should work an equal amount in the home shouldn’t be a radical idea. But it is.

The good news is that I think this attitude is changing. It’s just changing a lot more slowly than most of us expected.
