Maddie: And this right here is a floggen-doodle.

Sam: What’s a floggen-dodo?

Maddie: DOODLE. It’s a special playground toy that only big kids can play on. You’re too little.

Sam: How come I think you are making things up?

Maddie: It’s true, I swear.

Sam: Auntie T warned me about these kinds of shenanigans and hijinks. Mommy told her that cray-pas were only for big kids and if she used them, she’d go to jail and never see her parents again. To this day, she has NEVER used an oil crayon.

Maddie: Crap. Auntie T is really throwing a wrench in my plans for world domination.

Sam: Yeah, T and I are wise to you.

In my defense, when I told Tracy she was too young for cray-pas she was, in all likelihood, too young for them. It’s even possible Mom told me not to give them to her (as I know I regularly tell Maddie not to give Sam things he’s too little for).

Did I exaggerate the consequences? Perhaps.
